Excursions et évènements

Registration at the accomodation center, starting at 2pm to 7pm.

Welcoming cocktail (Sunday, October 5, 7-10 pm) at the restaurant of the accomodation center.

Excursions:

On Wednesday afternoon (October 7, 2-5 pm), we propose you to participate to one of the following activities.

If you are interested, please register on the doodle before Sept. 15.

• Scuba diving (limited to 15 persons):

Meeting at 2pm at the "Plongée Bleue" (located in Banyuls harbour, in front of the conference centre, 10 Quai George Petit). Expected time of return around 4:30pm. Several formula are proposed:

• • First dive (40 euros/person, everything included)
  • Niveau 1 FFESSM  (equivalence PADI open water diver), supervised diving (27 euros/person + 10 euros for full equipment)
  • Niveau 2 FFESSM  (equivalence PADI advanced open water diver), unsupervised diving (22 euros/person + 10 euros for full equipment)

For the Niveau 1 & 2 dives, required documents: medical certificate, FFESSM/PADI certification card (+ diver's logbook if possible).

• Sea kayaking (limited to 12 persons, weather permitted):

Meeting at 2pm at "Aléoutes Kayak Mer" (located in Banyuls harbour, in front of the conference centre, 11 Quai George Petit, next to the scuba diving). Expected time of return around 5pm. Discover the "Côte Vermeille" from the sea, slide at the foot of the cliffs, discover hidden caves and navigate on translucent water. Price: 27 euros/person.

• Hiking (no limitation):

Meeting at 2pm in front of the Tourist Office. Expected time of return around 5pm. Discover Banyuls area walking along its vineyards and olive groves, and climb its small hills to reach fantastic viewpoints on the village and the sea. Hike organised by the Banyuls Rando club. Free of charge.

• Maillol museum (no limitation):

Meeting at 2:30pm at the Maillol museum (Vallée de la Roume, Banyuls, about 4km from the conference centre). Estimated time of visit: about 1 hour. We can either drive you there or organize to rent bikes. Visit the house of the artist (painter & sculptor) Aristide Maillol as well as the temporal exhibit. Price: 5 euros/person if more than 10 persons (otherwise 7 euros/person).

Public conference (Wednesday, October 7, 6-8 pm) by F. Martins at the conference center: "Etoiles et Galaxies" (in French).

En cette année 2015 déclarée "année mondiale de la lumière" par l'UNESCO, nous profiterons de cette conférence pour découvrir comment la lumière nous renseigne sur les galaxies et leur contenu, plus particulièrement les étoiles. Nous verrons comment la lumière est produite par ces dernières, comment elle interagit avec le gaz qui constitue les galaxies, et comment elle nous renseigne sur la nature des objets qui constituent notre Univers.

Banquet (Wednesday, October 7, 8pm onwards) at the restaurant "La Littorine" (Plage des Elmes, Banyuls, 15-20 min walk from the conference centre) followed by a dancing party.

Banyuls wine tasting (Thursday, October 8, 7-8 pm) in the garden of the Villa Camille (next to the accomodation center). Possibility to buy bottles after the tasting.
