The school will take place at the Observatoire océanologique de Banyuls sur mer.

The registration desk will be open on Sunday from 2pm at the accomodation center, which is located on the seafront, only a few steps away from the observatory.

The reception is on the ground floor while the restaurant with panoramic view is on the first floor, where there will be the welcoming cocktail. Breakfast, lunch and dinner will also be served in this restaurant.

Most of the rooms are individual with single bed, but there are a few double bedrooms available on request.

All bedrooms have free WIFI access. There is a car park as well as a small laundry. For more informations, see here.

How to get there

By plane:

There are direct flights to/from Paris-Orly (AirFrance or Hop!), London-Stansted (Ryanair; once a week), Brussels-Charleroi (Ryanair; once a week), and Madrid (Iberia; once a week).

From Perpignan airport, you can take a shuttle (line 7) to go to Perpignan city center (stop in Catalogne) and go to the train station by foot (~700m from Catalogne bus-stop) or by bus (line 2). From there, take a TER train to Banyuls (30 min).

You can also take a taxi from the airport to go to Perpignan train station (15-20 euros) or directly to Banyuls (about 80 euros on week days to 110 euros on sundays).

There are Ryanair flights from London, Liverpool, Manchester, Leeds, East Midlands, Bristol, Bournemouth, Dublin, Glasgow, Edimburgh, Brussels, Frankfurt, Dusseldorf, Oslo, Stockholm, Pisa, ... to Girona, Béziers, Carcassonne or Montpellier airports (often once a week). Other low-cost companies as well as AirFrance, KLM, Lufthansa also fly to Montpellier.

From Girona airport (100 km from Banyuls) you can take a Eurolines bus to go to Perpignan (about 1h45, several buses a day) and then take a TER train to Banyuls (30 min); or take a train to Cerbere and then a regular bus to Banyuls.

From Béziers (150km from Banyuls), there are direct train to Banyuls (1h40).

From Carcassone (160km from Banyuls), you can take a train to Banyuls (~2h15, with a connection in Narbonne).

From Montpellier (200km from Banyuls), there are direct train to Banyuls (2h25).

By train:

There is a train station in Banyuls sur Mer that is only 1.2km away from the school location at the Observatoire océanologique.

By car:

38 km from Perpignan : From the A9 highway, exit in "Perpignan Sud", and follow the directions to Elne, Argeles Sur Mer, Collioure, Port Vendres, and Banyuls.

100 km from Girona (Spain) : From the AP7/ E15 highway, follow the direction to Figueras, Perpignan.
When you cross the border, continue on the A9 highway, and take the exit 43. Then follow the directions to Argeles Sur mer, Collioure, Port-Vendres, and Banyuls.

The school location (Observatoire océanoloqiue, Laboratoire Arago) is next to the port.
